In the accompanying exhibition at the NRW Nano-Conference, North-Rhine Westphalian companies, research institutions and scientific establishments from the field of nanotechnology and microtechnology will be showcasing themselves.
“Nanotechnology is one of four fields on which the State Government is focusing its technology funding”, said Minister for Innovation Prof. Andreas Pinkwart. “North-Rhine Westphalia is one of the leading locations in Europe for this future-oriented field.” A prime example of this is Dortmund where a strong nano-micro-cluster has been formed already creating many new high-tech jobs.
Minister Pinkwart announced that he would be presenting the cabinet with a comprehensive strategy for nano and microtechnology in November. He announced the possibility of providing around 100 million euros for these key technologies in the coming years.
