Retraining and Further Education
In the Dortmund region, there are various education providers delivering needs-oriented retraining and qualification courses for the micro and nanotechnology sector. These courses mean that companies’ short term needs for specialist staff can be covered, simultaneously opening up a new range of careers for a wide range of people.
In the RAG Bildung Education Center, which represents one of the few pan-company training organizations in the field of microtechnology in NRW, regular retraining programs are run in cooperation with local companies and the Employment Agency qualifying the participants as “microtechnologists”.
There are also many opportunities for further training for the specialist staff already employed in Dortmund companies. As part of the INNOQUAM project organized by the IVAM in collaboration with local companies and institutions, a whole range of further education courses and programs has been developed for the specialist staff in micro and nanotechnology.
